Job summary

Pittsburgh Opera is seeking a full-time Donor Relations Associate to advance fundraising and donor engagement. You will manage gift processing in Tessitura, plan cultivation events, coordinate donor benefits, and serve as a key Development contact for the organization.

The role reports to the Senior Manager of Individual Giving and requires evenings/weekends as needed. Minimum 1–2 years in gifts/events and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in gift processing, event coordination, or administrative support.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in donor data and processes.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to balance deadlines and events.
• Clear, courteous written and verbal communication with donors.
• Proficiency with donor CRM software (Tessitura preferred; Raiser’s Edge/Salesforce welcome) and MS Office.
• Comfort with email automation, online giving, and event registration platforms (Prospect2, Donate2, Typeform, Social Tables).
• Positive, donor-centric approach and discretion handling confidential donor information.
• Ability to lift 25-50 pounds and travel to assigned work locations as needed.
• Willingness to learn about opera and support Pittsburgh Opera's mission.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Process and acknowledge gifts in Tessitura, manage receipts and renewals, and maintain online gift forms.
• Plan and staff non-ticketed cultivation events, oversee invitations, registrations, and check-in.
• Coordinate donor benefits by giving level and manage notices and communications.
• Support Tessitura by building lists/reports for fundraising, stewardship, and events.
• Contribute to annual giving appeals, digital donor engagement, and community outreach as needed.
