Job summary

La Jolla Playhouse is seeking a Donor Relations Specialist to support the Individual Giving team. The role focuses on managing donor portfolios, stewarding donors, producing acknowledgments, and coordinating events.

The position requires 3–5 years fundraising experience, strong relationship-building skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Tessitura. Regular daytime hours with occasional evenings or weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 3–5 years of fundraising experience in a nonprofit organization in Philanthropy.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with donors, trustees, volunteers, advisors, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of donors and support fundraising initiatives.
• Cultivate subscribers and supporters to become new donors.
• Project manage acknowledgement letters and tax receipts process.
• Tessitura Gift Entry and Acknowledgments reporting and daily processing.
• Ensure donor benefits are fulfilled and donor recognition is visible in communications and events.
• Coordinate donor events and Backstage Tours logistics.
• Organize and order branded gifts for donors and staff.
• Create and distribute VIP gift certificates for Trustees and major donors.
• Track RSVPs for events and backstage tours in Tessitura.
• Provide backup support for Notes and Chocolates stewardship and data entry in Tessitura CRM.
