Job summary

Rhode Island Blood Center is seeking a Laboratory Technician I/II to process specimens, perform donor screening tests, and report results in a high‑complexity lab serving multiple clients.

The role requires CLIA/NYS DOH compliance, cGMP awareness, and strong record‑keeping with LIS/BECS. Valid for 3rd shift (4x10h) with 7 days on/off; ASCP or equivalent certification must be achieved within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) required.
• Or Bachelor's in chemical/biological science with biology/chem credits; see CLIA testing requirements.
• ASCP or equivalent certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Specimen processing and pre-analytic handling per SOPs.
• Perform donor screening testing on multiple platforms and report results.
• Document test records; ensure data integrity and quality control.
• Troubleshoot equipment and manage inventory and safety.
