Job summary

Rhode Island Blood Center is seeking a Laboratory Technologist I or II for the 3rd shift in Providence. You will process specimens, perform donor screening tests, and report results using multiple platforms in a high-complexity lab serving diverse clients.

The role requires an MLT or higher degree with certification within 1 year, or a relevant BS with chemistry/biology credits. You will ensure accurate documentation, maintain equipment, and support quality systems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) required or
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/biological science with biology and chemistry credits
• ASCP or equivalent national certification within 1 year of employment

Responsibilities

• Process specimens for testing and ensure proper handling and storage.
• Perform donor screening testing on multiple platforms and report results.
• Review and document test records following SOPs and GMP.
• Troubleshoot equipment and maintain routine calibration.
• Monitor inventory and ensure reagents and supplies are adequate.
