Job summary

SMA Healthcare in Daytona Beach, FL seeks a fundraising professional to manage communications, donor relations, and event support. You will research prospective funders, prepare donor communications, and assist in planning campaigns and activities.

Role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in fundraising or related fields, with CFRE preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and MS Office skills are essential for success in this busy, outcome‑driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Manages communications and engagement activities: prospect development, stewardship, donor acknowledgments, appeals, and events.
• Researches prospective funders (individuals, corporations, foundations).
• Assists in development-related data reports detailing fundraising results.
• Assists in planning and executing fundraising events and activities.
• Raises SMA Healthcare awareness at local levels via speaking engagements and outreach.
• Maintains donor databases and coordinates donor communications.

Essential Job Functions:

• Manages, as assigned, communications andengagement activities including but not limited to: prospectdevelopment, stewardship, acknowledgement of gifts, drafting writtenappeals, solicitation of event sponsorships, in-kind donation requests,event attendance initiatives and donation requests.
• Conducts research on prospective funders(individual, corporate, and foundation).
• Assists in development-related data reportsdetailing fundraising results.
• Assists in the planning and executing offundraising events and activities.
• Raises awareness of SMA Healthcare and itswork at local levels (speaking to groups, etc.).
• Assists in developing and coordinatingweb-based fundraising.
• Updates databases to record donor contact andpreference information.
• Provides content for donor and prospectcommunications as planned for the year in coordination with the PR &Events Specialist, which may include mail appeals, e-appeals,e-newsletters, annual report content, e-blasts, etc.
• Works with Foundation Executive Director torecognize donors and sponsors via web-based methods, signage and/orsocial media.
• Completes paperwork documenting donations.
• Responds to donor questions and requests.
• Maintains existing sponsor relationships andhelps develop new sponsors through effective communication.
• Converts new sponsors into committedsupporters through identification of shared goals and values.
• Remains apprised of trends or issues inrelevant industries that affect business climate or culture and economicenvironment that could impact fundraising.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties asassigned.

Minimum Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degreepreferred (Business, Sales/Marketing, Human Service, Social Services or otherrelated fields). Minimum of three (3) years of experience working indevelopment and/or fundraising Sales/Marketing/Public Relations experiencerequired. CFRE Certification is preferred.

Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Florida driver's license, acceptable drivingrecord, and proof of personal automobile insurance if required to drive anSMA vehicle and/or use a personal vehicle for SMA business. Complete State ofFlorida mandatory background screening prior to start of employment. Complete SMA required training during thefirst six (6) months of employment and updated if required.

Physical: Mobility and ability to bend andreach during an 8-12 hour day. Able to lift minimum 30 pounds. Visual andauditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, intervene, treat, and record clienthealth care needs. Fine motor skills for legible and accurate charting, dailycorrespondence and presentation, either manually or orally. Work enduranceability to work 8-12 hour shifts with a meal break, as possible. Routine8-12hour shifts. Hours and days off may vary. Extra hours may berequired. Work assignment locations may vary.
