Job summary

Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (CAMH) is seeking a Manager of Individual Giving to strengthen and expand support for the Museum among members and Annual Fund donors. You will partner with the Director of Development to build a strong donor pipeline, hone donor outreach, and connect supporters with CAMH’s programs and exhibitions while coordinating events and communications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years experience in donor engagement, ideally within the arts sector.
  • Solid knowledge of donor moves management (discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship)
  • Excellent social, interpersonal, and conversational skills
  • Sound judgement, and strong understanding of discretion
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with colleagues
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge software highly preferred
  • Earnest and active interest in visual art and art education a plus
  • Ability to work evening events for General Members and upper-level Collectors Circle members, and occasional weekend events
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility with attention to visual consistency

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary manager for a portfolio of 100–120 prospects, members, and donors to the Annual Fund.
  • Meet financial goals through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual supporters in collaboration with the Director of Development.
  • Encourage donors to increase membership or gift levels for the Annual Fund.
  • Maintain professional relationships with prospects and donors through meetings and tours of CAMH exhibitions.
  • Be thoroughly knowledgeable of CAMH’s exhibitions, programs, events, and history to ensure ideal donor experiences.
  • Express timely and personalized gratitude for portfolio donor gifts.
  • Design and implement digital and mailed campaigns for Annual Fund giving and member acquisition (Mailchimp-focused).
  • Maintain CAMH webpages describing pathways to support and benefits of tiered giving.
  • Produce timely acknowledgement letters in collaboration with the Director of Development.
  • Maintain meticulous donor communications records in Raiser's Edge.
  • Draft and send invitations to members for exhibitions and Collectors Circle events.
  • Track RSVPs for member events and previews; assist in securing attendance.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development and Special Events to optimize member participation.
