Job summary

Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph is seeking a Philanthropy Advisor to grow relationships with individual and corporate funders through deep knowledge of Kansas City philanthropy. This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Vice President of Development and drives donor engagement and fundraising efforts.

The starting pay is $49k-$52k, depending on experience. Based out of the Kansas City office, it may require occasional travel to our St. Joseph and Rockhurst locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, sociology, psychology, education, or a related human service field preferred.
• Prefer 2-5 years of fundraising experience.

Responsibilities

• Stewards a portfolio of individual and corporate donors to raise and retain funds.
• Solicits sponsorships for annual events, both financial as well as in‑kind donations.
• Encourage donors to maintain regular support and inspire new supporters through relationship management.
• Assists at events, including golf tournament, Hope Ball, donor parties, and other fundraising events.
• Keeps records of communications and touchpoints with donor portfolio in the agency CRM.
• Assist the Development team, CEO, board of directors, other stakeholders with fundraising efforts.
• Builds and maintains relationships with members of the community.
• Responds to inquiries from community members; when needed, recruits a knowledgeable spokesperson or information source to assist.
• Creates a spirit of goodwill and advocacy for the mission of Catholic Charities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
