Job summary

Amherst Survival Center seeks a Development Associate to assist its fundraising program, focusing on individual and organizational giving, donor stewardship, and event support. The role reports to the Development Manager and supports communications, reporting, and special projects.

The position is full-time (40 hours) with occasional evenings or weekends for events; experience in nonprofit admin and strong communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Eye for design and graphic presentation of information.
  • Experience with confidentiality of private information.
  • Ability to plan and track project components across multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and data entry.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under agency policy.

Responsibilities

  • Process donations including counting/recording cash and check donations; enter data and maintain accuracy.
  • Generate acknowledgements, letters, receipts, and donor records updates.
  • Research donor information and compile relevant reports; assist with donor stewardship.
  • Assist with sponsor solicitation, tracking sponsorships, and recognizing sponsors.
  • Create collateral materials like posters, infographics, emails and social posts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems for collecting photos, stories, and quotes.
  • Support Manager with communications, presentations, and reports.
  • Provide support for events: planning, logistics, and follow-up.
