Job summary

California State University, Fullerton is seeking a Donor Prospect Research Specialist (Advancement Professional I) to support fundraising strategies through research and data analysis. The role reports to the Director of Prospect Management and Strategy and collaborates with the Development team to maintain accurate prospect information and drive donor engagement.

The position is temporary, with an end date by June 30, 2027, and may renew annually based on funds and program needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Under supervision, performs entry-level professional work within the advancement field including gathering and analyzing data; producing reports; assisting in advancement activities.
• Strong analytical and math skills to complete research and reconcile financial accounts.
• Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders and maintain confidentiality of donor information.
• Background check is required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research, analysis, and reporting on individuals, corporations, and foundations to inform fundraising strategies.
• Identify new prospects from existing constituent data to support campaigns.
• Prepare research on assigned prospects and support data-driven fundraising initiatives.
• Distribute prospect reports to University Advancement staff and coordinate reporting.
• Assist in travel and procurement card tracking and general office coordination.
