Job summary

CSL Plasma in the United States seeks qualified medical staff to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, administer immunizations, and provide emergency medical care for donors and staff. You will conduct confidential donor interviews, discuss donor suitability with the medical team, and maintain accurate documentation in the donor information system.

The role requires active licensure in a relevant medical field, 1+ year healthcare experience, and familiarity with regulated plasma

Qualifications

• Active state licensure from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school required OR
• Completion of a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school and only if also currently licensed as a physician or certified as an EMT in the state
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a health care environment or one year of clinical experience from a vocational or nursing institution
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.
• Ability to instruct donors, staff and community regarding the benefit of plasma donation programs

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer and supervise approved immunizations other than red blood cell immunizations.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Promote positive customer relations with all donors.
• Conduct confidential interviews to obtain information on donor suitability.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director and/or Center Physician.
• Review donor screening results to determine donor suitability.
• Explain informed consent to applicant donors and obtain signatures.
• Handle medical emergencies per SOPs and check emergency kits.
