Job summary

CSL Plasma in the United States is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and administer approved immunizations. You will provide limited emergency medical care, interview donors, and respond to medically related questions with the Center Medical Director.

The role includes documenting donor data accurately and maintaining a safe, confidential work environment.

Qualifications

• > Active state licensure from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school required OR
• > Completion of a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school and only if also currently licensed as a physician or certified as an EMT in the state
• > Minimum of one year experience in a health care environment or one year of clinical experience from a vocational or nursing institution
• > Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer and supervise approved immunizations other than red blood cell immunizations.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Promote positive donor relations and confidentiality.
• Conduct interviews with donors to obtain suitability information.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director/physician.
• Review donor screening results to determine ongoing suitability.
• Explain informed consent and immunization schedules to donors.
• Manage donor immunization programs and antibody titers where applicable.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic management system.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment and comply with HSE/OSHA policies.
• Respect donor, staff and center confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas and assist as needed.
