Job summary

Reading Partners seeks a Development and Fundraising Capacity Building VISTA in New York City to strengthen systems, pipelines, and donor engagement as part of a national nonprofit focused on literacy education.

You will build sustainable fundraising practices, develop prospect profiles, and create tools and processes to support campaigns and annual appeals across Reading Partners regions.

Qualifications

• Experience with prospect research, fundraising, donor engagement, data management, or corporate partnerships is a plus.
• Strong research and written communication skills are essential.
• Excellent project management and analytical abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Assess regional fundraising systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Research corporations, foundations, and community organizations and develop prospect profiles.
• Build and maintain prospect and partnership tracking systems and identify opportunities for support.
• Develop standardized outreach and partnership materials for Reading Partners staff.
• Create a donor stewardship framework, calendar, and reusable communication resources.
• Analyze donor and prospect data to strengthen engagement and retention.
• Develop project plans, tracking tools, and resources for fundraising campaigns and annual appeals.
• Organize development resources and document repeatable processes and SOPs.
