Job summary

Reading Partners is a national nonprofit empowering children to become readers through community volunteers and evidence-based literacy support. As a Development and Fundraising Capacity Building VISTA, you will strengthen fundraising systems and regional partnerships to support Reading Partners’ mission across multiple regions.

You will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, prospect research, donor stewardship, and campaign infrastructure while building scalable tools for long-term

Qualifications

• Experience with prospect research, fundraising, donor engagement, data management, or corporate partnerships is a plus.
• Strong candidates will have excellent research, written communication, project management, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess regional fundraising systems, workflows, and development practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Research corporations, foundations, businesses, and community organizations aligned with Reading Partners' mission and develop prospect profiles.
• Build and maintain prospect and partnership tracking systems and identify opportunities for financial and in-kind support.
• Develop standardized outreach and partnership materials for Reading Partners staff.
• Create a donor stewardship framework, calendar, and reusable communication and recognition resources.
• Analyze donor and prospect information to identify opportunities to strengthen engagement and retention.
• Develop project plans, tracking tools, and resources to support fundraising campaigns and annual appeals.
• Organize development resources and document repeatable processes, best practices, and standard operating procedures.
