Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. The role includes interviewing donors, reviewing medical histories, and escalating urgent situations to medical leadership.

Candidates should have graduation from paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic training, with at least one year in a health care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• Foreign medical school graduates must be licensed as a physician or hold state EMT certification.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as RN, MD or DO in the state of application or reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments as licensed.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donate suitability.
• Assist Center Medical Director by answering medically related questions on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms affecting donation.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical service providers.
