Job summary

Qualifications include graduation from paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, medical school or related programs; licensure as required; and at least 1 year in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program
• If graduation is from a foreign medical school, must be licensed as a physician or certified as an EMT
• For NY: current license/certification as RN/MD/DO or reciprocal state
• Minimum of one year relevant healthcare experience
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or regulated environment preferred
• Ability to perform physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability
• Consult with Center Medical Director on donor suitability
• Review test results to determine continued suitability and assess donor symptoms
• Counsel donors on reactive test results and refer for follow-up
• Follow SOPs and escalate critical medical situations as needed
