Job summary

CSL in Springdale, AR is seeking a clinical professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and respond to donor questions under supervision, escalating complex cases to the Center Physician as needed.

The role requires graduations in paramedic, nursing, PA/MD/DO, or related medical training, plus an active license or certification where applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments as permitted
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability
• Coordinate with Center Medical Director on donor suitability questions
• Review test results to assess continued donor suitability and cue potential issues
• Counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer to community facilities for follow-up
• Follow SOPs for routine care and escalate critical medical situations as required
