Job summary

CSL in Mesquite, TX is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures. Under general supervision, you will interview donors, review medical histories, and determine eligibility to donate plasma while providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.

You will respond to medically related questions with the Center Medical Director, review test results, counsel donors on reactive tests, and escalate critical cases to a Center Physician.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic program.
• Authorized licensure or state certification as applicable (RN/MD/DO) where required.
• Minimum of one year in a health care environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation eligibility.
• Respond to medically related questions with the Center Medical Director.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability.
• Counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Escalate critical medical situations to the Center Physician or local providers.
