Job summary

Bloedel Reserve is seeking a Development Manager to lead fundraising for core mission support on Bainbridge Island. This role partners with the CEO and Development team to achieve annual goals and ensure organizational stability.

The position focuses on frontline fundraising, donor events like the Garden Party, and stewardship of the Landscape of Giving donors. Collaboration with multiple teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of frontline fundraising experience and donor stewardship.
• Knowledge of Bainbridge Island/Puget Sound and arts/public gardens preferred.
• Proven written and oral communications excellence, including proofreading.
• Strong understanding of donor-centered and moves management fundraising philosophies.
• Experience managing budgets and maximizing their effectiveness.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills: Microsoft; CRM (Blackbaud Altru or Raiser's Edge).
• Must pass background check.
• Must comply with smoke-free and drug-free environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees logistics for the Garden Party using a work-back schedule.
• Schedules meetings, creates agendas, takes notes, and follows up.
• Coordinates with team, vendors, and stakeholders for efficiency.
• Supports budget tracking and communicates with the Director of Development.
• Stewards table hosts, board members, speakers, honorees, and VIP guests.
