Job summary

The Jewish Federation of Greater Houston is seeking a Philanthropy Officer who will report to the Senior Director of Philanthropy, Annual Campaign. This role focuses on cultivating donors, growing philanthropic support, and stewarding relationships within the Houston Jewish community.

Working with the Philanthropy team, you will develop strategies to achieve Annual Campaign goals, secure legacy commitments, and collaborate across departments to maximize fundraising impact.

Qualifications

• CFRE preferred or Master’s degree preferred.
• 5-7 years of direct fundraising experience.
• Proven success building donor relationships and securing philanthropic commitments.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
• Ability to work effectively with volunteers, donors, professional advisors, and community leaders.
• Experience utilizing donor databases, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of annual donors $10,000 and below with a focus on stewardship and elevating giving.
• Identify, qualify, and cultivate prospective donors to grow philanthropic support.
• Secure legacy commitments from long-standing Annual Campaign donors.
• Develop, manage, and evaluate affinity groups as donor engagement & relationship-building strategy.
• Collaborate with the Philanthropy team to ensure achievement of Annual Campaign goals.
• Partner with philanthropy colleagues and other departments to maximize fundraising efforts.
