Job summary

Jewish Federation of Greater Houston seeks a NexGen Philanthropy Manager to lead a strategic program engaging young adults (30–45) in Houston’s Jewish community. The role partners with philanthropy and program teams to connect emerging donors to meaningful involvement and long-term giving.

Qualifications

  • College degree required.
  • Minimum seven years of fundraising experience.
  • Team player and self-starter.
  • Understanding the Jewish community is essential.
  • Proven track record in soliciting gifts in the $5,000k+ range.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience working with volunteer leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Presentation skills; ability to use databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Must attend community events on nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Grow the donor pipeline with individuals in the 30–40 age group.
  • Recruit, cultivate and steward the NYL Cabinet with annual gifts of $5,000 for five years.
  • Build NYL Cabinet Alumni cohort for continued engagement and giving.
  • Coordinate with YAD Engagement team to connect emerging leaders to philanthropy.
  • Manage a portfolio of individuals with capacity to grow giving.
  • Collaborate with Women’s Philanthropy to grow Step-Up Lion program.
  • Maximize fundraising efforts across departments to advance the mission.
  • Identify meaningful ways to steward donors in the Federation.
