Job summary

YMCA of Montclair, located in Montclair, NJ, seeks a Development & Annual Giving Manager to oversee the organization’s fundraising efforts and donor relations. The role reports to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and focuses on coordinating annual giving campaigns, donor cultivation, and stewardship, with exposure to major gifts and capital campaigns.

The ideal candidate is organized, community-minded, and adept at building relationships, managing projects, and working cross-functionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of four years of relevant experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, annual giving, or a related field.
• Experience supporting fundraising campaigns, donor communications, and stewardship activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently and build donor relationships.
• Experience using donor databases and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate annual giving campaigns, including employee, member, and community appeals.
• Work with the Chief Philanthropy Officer to raise donor participation and strengthen annual giving.
• Manage timelines, communications, and follow-ups to keep campaigns on track.
• Collaborate with Marketing to develop fundraising appeals and materials.
• Track progress, prepare reports, and evaluate results.
• Support fundraising events and other development initiatives.
• Maintain donor records and coordinate gift processing and acknowledgments.
• Monitor grant deadlines, reporting, and proposal submissions.
• Support grant-related activities with program staff.
