Job summary

UW Health's Organ and Tissue Donation team is seeking a Donation Support Specialist to support donor families, coordinate education for internal and external stakeholders, and uphold regulatory standards. The role is based at the Tissue and Donation building in Madison, WI, and requires strong communication and compassionate care.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 2 years in family support; a Master's is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with focus on communication, human behavior, and social experience (Counseling, Social Work, Social Science, Chaplaincy, Psychology, Education or related).
• 2 years of family support experience such as counseling, social work, hospice, palliative care, or education.
• Master's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Join an exceptional Organ Procurement Organization and support donor families.
• Obtain and maintain consent to optimize the number of organ donors in the designated service area.
• Provide excellence in donor family care through the Donor Family Services program.
• Contribute expertise in best practices in consent conversations and donor family care.
• Coordinate education to internal and external stakeholders and participate in quality improvement.
