Job summary

Horizon Goodwill in Shepherdstown, WV is seeking a part-time Donor Greeter to welcome donors at our Shepherdstown store and process donations with care. You will educate the public on our mission while ensuring a positive donor experience.

The role emphasizes customer service, donation acceptance guidelines, and maintaining a clean, organized donation area in a nonprofit retail setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass pre-screenings such as background or drug screenings.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to fifty (50) lbs., with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist all customers.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service and reject items that cannot be accepted.
• Determine usable and saleable items as specified in guidelines for acceptable donations.
• Accurately track all donations according to standards set by management.
• Support processing by maintaining proper staging of donated goods and rerouting items to correct stations.
• Provide donors with exceptional customer service including greeting within 10 seconds of arriving and handling donations with care.
• Maintain store cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and organizing hangers and racks.
• Follow all required safety and security procedures.
• Maintain efficient product flow in line with company policies and procedures.
• Receive and verify merchandise incoming to the location from warehouse and vendors.
• Participate in training as required.
• Support store operations by participating in cross-training as assigned by management.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
