Job description

We are seeking a full-time Donor Event Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be a vital member of the Development team, dedicated to establishing, nurturing, and expanding relationships with Kravis Center donors, partners, and vendors primarily through donor events.

The Donor Event Manager is primarily responsible for organizing, implementing, and managing all aspects of fundraising and stewardship events. This position will also manage relationships with mid-level donors, execute select stewardship projects, and maintain a regular presence in the Founders’ Room.

Event Management:

  • Plan and execute all fundraising and stewardship events from start to finish, in collaboration with the Development team. The current annual calendar includes four major events: Annual Gala, Founders’ Dinner, Dress Circle Event, and Corporate Speakers Series Luncheons and many smaller-scale events (including Young Professionals events), with continued growth expected in this area both on and off site.
  • Work collaboratively with the Development team and event planners and assist in securing sponsorships for fundraising events when appropriate.
  • Draft and monitor event budgets, timeline and run-of-show calendars, as well as seating information.
  • Draft and manage customized event materials, working alongside the Marketing Communications Manager to produce event-related materials.
  • Identify opportunities for creative events and activities to engage the community and our Kravis Center donors.

Stewardship:

  • Drive collaborative planning for the execution of the Center’s donor stewardship and recognition strategies, including multiple giving societies.
  • Implement strategies to enhance engagement with targeted donor groups such as Dress Circle members, Corporate Partners and Young Professionals.

Database Management:

  • Utilize Tessitura to accurately record and track important donor information (including attendee information) and touchpoints according to department guidelines and procedures.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant certifications and experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 year’s event management experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Experience managing relationships, budgets and securing revenue from donors/customers/sponsors.
  • Familiarity with a donor/customer relational database is strongly preferred.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Outstanding follow-up, including thank-you notes, recognition ads, and event photos.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel.
  • Self-starter, able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Mission-driven, professional demeanor, diplomacy, and a collaborative workstyle.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This position is a full-time, on-site role. Requires the ability to work extended hours as needed, including evenings and weekends. Ability to remain in a stationary position, including sitting or standing, for extended periods, and move throughout the campus to access files and equipment, meet with staff, and support event execution. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment; lift and move up to 20 pounds; and travel locally while transporting materials and equipment for events.
