Job summary

Shepeard Community Blood Center is seeking a passionate Donor Contact Representative to professionally engage donors, update records, answer inquiries, and provide a welcoming front-desk presence across locations.

You will make outbound calls, encourage donations based on eligibility and inventory, coordinate with multiple departments, and help promote positive donor relations. A high school diploma and customer-service experience are preferred; weekend and travel availability is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; sales/communication coursework preferred.
  • At least 1 year in a public-facing role; call center or receptionist experience a plus.
  • Excellent persuasive and interpersonal skills; accurate data entry.
  • Flexible schedule with ability to travel to multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Make outbound donor calls to encourage donations based on eligibility and inventory needs.
  • Update donor records and contact information.
  • Respond to donor inquiries; refer complex questions to the appropriate department.
  • Cover front desk: reception, visitor coordination, mail, and security notifications.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance donor experience.
  • Travel to multiple locations as needed to support donor programs.
  • Support customer relations to improve donor retention.
  • Maintain a clean, organized front desk and organize donor incentives.

Description

At Shepeard Community Blood Center, every call you make has the power to save lives. We're seeking a passionate and friendly communicator to join our team as a Donor Contact Representative. If you enjoy connecting with people, we’d love to have you!

  • Engage with Donors: Make outgoing calls to established donors, encouraging them to donate blood based on eligibility, blood type, and inventory needs.
  • Update Records: Maintain and update donor records, including changes in contact information and other relevant details.
  • Answer Inquiries: Respond to donor questions within your scope of knowledge, and refer more complex queries to the appropriate department.
  • Front Desk Duties: Perform reception duties, manage visitor rosters, distribute mail or notify directors when mail has arrived, and monitor surveillance cameras.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure a positive donor experience and promote teamwork.
  • Flexible Schedule: Be prepared to work weekdays, weekends, and travel to various locations as needed.
  • Customer Relations: Assist all departments in promoting positive customer relations to enhance donor retention.
  • Maintain a clean and neat front desk area: Keep the area neat and orderly.
  • Organize and maintain donor incentives in a neat and orderly fashion.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Courses in sales, communication, and computer data entry are preferred.

Experience: At least one year of experience in a public-facing role, preferably in sales or customer service. Call center and receptionist experience are a plus.

Skills: Excellent persuasive and interpersonal skills. Accurate data entry abilities. Ability to work well in a team and handle diverse co-workers. Flexibility to work various schedules and travel as needed.

Physical Requirements: Ability to remain stationary for extended periods, move through the office, and handle materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
