Job summary

OneBlood in Orlando is seeking a donor recruitment specialist to contact eligible donors by telephone and approved methods, encouraging regular donations and scheduling appointments.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, precise data entry into the donor system, adherence to policies, and helping stabilize donation inventory; requires strong communication skills and the ability to meet monthly performance targets. Shift times include 3:00pm–8:00pm on most evenings and Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Comfort with donor outreach by phone.

  • Provides excellent customer service at all times; establishes rapport with donors and potential donors, and educates them on the organization's programs and services.
  • Enters donor information into the electronic database and utilizes various methods for appointment reminders
  • Complies with and maintains current knowledge and understanding of Donor Recruitment policies, procedures and other related regulations
  • Assists in stabilizing and maintaining blood donation inventory levels.

Job description

Overview

Contacts by telephone and other approved communication methods (emails, text, flyers) eligible blood donors who have previously given blood and re-recruits them to donate regularly while also meeting the team measurements each month. Candidate will work 3:00pm - 8:00pm most nights and Saturday 9:00 - 5:30pm.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and comfortable speaking with donors on the phone
  • Ability to meet pre-defined monthly metrics related to outreach calls, appointments confirmed, booking accuracy, and show rates; eligible to earn a monthly incentive award based upon goal achievements
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • Skill in operating office equipment
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and database software navigation
