Job summary

Latino Education Advancement Foundation (LEAF) seeks a Development and Communications Associate to strengthen fundraising capacity through donor communications, gift processing, stewardship, and events, while expanding external communications and brand visibility.

You will develop and implement comprehensive plans to boost awareness, engagement, and support for LEAF’s mission and equity-focused initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of experience in fundraising, development communications, donor relations, or nonprofit communications.
• Experience with gift processing and donor acknowledgment systems.
• Familiarity with donor databases/CRM systems; Network for Good a plus.
• Experience supporting fundraising campaigns and/or events.
• Strong project management skills; able to manage timelines across campaigns, calendars, and events.
• Excellent writing skills with ability to craft clear, donor-centered content.
• Proficiency in social media management and content creation; experience with Canva or similar tools.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across staff, Board, and external partners.
• Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising best practices.
• Strong ethical values and a passion for LEAF’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Develop donor communications plans and manage stewardship activities.
• Oversee gift processing and donor records in the CRM with finance alignment.
• Draft donor acknowledgments within 48–72 hours of receipt.
• Produce monthly fundraising and communications dashboards for leadership and Board.
• Support annual fundraising campaigns and donor engagement events.
• Maintain brand consistency across donor-facing and community materials.
• Manage LEAF’s website and social media alignment with campaigns.
• Coordinate with consultants/designers for larger projects.
