Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a qualified professional to evaluate donor suitability and provide limited emergency medical care in a plasma donation center. The role involves interviewing donors, conducting medical history reviews, and ensuring safety throughout the donation process.

The candidate should have training in paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic medicine, plus at least one year in a healthcare setting. Additional licensure requirements may apply locally.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience in a health care environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments in accordance with licensure or certification.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to obtain necessary information to determine suitability to donate plasma.
• In conjunction with the Center Medical Director, respond to medically related questions and provide information to staff on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms that may result in the inability to continue donating.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors to community facilities for follow-up and counseling.
