Job summary

The American Red Cross in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Donor Care Specialist to support donors through the donation process with accurate health histories and clear guidance. The role requires healthcare certification and strong communication skills, with a hybrid work arrangement after training.

Previous clinical or blood-donation experience is preferred. Responsibilities include answering donor inquiries, coordinating case resolutions, and ensuring regulatory compliance while maintaining donor

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent with medical certification such as RN, LPN or Medical Laboratory Professional required.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in patient care, blood collections or patient testing.

Responsibilities

• Handle donor cases from donation process and provide required donor care.
• Answer donor questions about eligibility, complaints and concerns and resolve cases.
• Perform quality reviews for donor complication cases to ensure standards are met.
• Investigate discrepancies in donor records and maintain confidentiality.
• Monitor access to confidential donor records to authorized personnel.
• Prepare reports on donor complication cases.
