Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Donor Care Specialist for the Charlotte, NC office. This hybrid role requires reporting to the office twice a month after training.

The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with base pay of $22.60 per hour plus shift differentials on evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include managing donor complications, answering donor and staff questions, conducting quality reviews, and maintaining donor data with confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in patient care, blood collections or patient testing or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• High School or equivalent with medical certification such as RN/LPN or Medical Laboratory Professional required.
• Bilingual abilities are helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage donor complication cases from the donation process and provide care for donors.
• Provide timely answers to donors and staff regarding eligibility, complaints and concerns.
• Perform medical director/designee review and quality review for donor cases.
• Investigate discrepancies in donor records and protect confidentiality.
• Monitor security to ensure only authorized access to donor records.
• Prepare reports regarding donor complication cases.
