Job summary

CSL Vifor seeks a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures at our Corpus Christi center. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and determine eligibility for plasma donation while adhering to SOPs.

The role involves providing limited emergency medical care, responding to test results, and escalating complex cases to the Center Physician, with a focus on donor safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess heart and lung sounds, signs of drug use, and related conditions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including treatments per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• In conjunction with the Center Medical Director, respond to donor questions on suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; monitor symptoms affecting donation.
• Counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up as needed.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical situations to Center Physician as required.

Education

Paramedic / Nursing / PA / Chiropractic / Medical School or Naturopathic Training

Foreign medical school licensure / emergency medical technician certification

NY licensure or RN/MD/DO or reciprocal state
