Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and provide limited emergency care to donors and staff. The role includes interviewing donors, reviewing medical histories, and collaborating with the Center Medical Director on donor eligibility.

The candidate will review test results, assess symptoms that may affect donation, and counsel donors on reactive results.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical or naturopathic training program.
• If graduated from a foreign medical school, must be licensed as physician or state EMT certification.
• New York requires current RN/MD/DO licensure or reciprocal state certification.
• Minimum of one year relevant healthcare experience.
• Experience in plasma or whole blood collection center or regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess physical findings (heart/lung sounds, signs of drug use) and make informed judgments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including administering medications per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to answer medical questions about donor suitability.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability and assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors on reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care per SOPs and escalate critical medical situations as needed.
