Job summary

CSL in Montgomery, AL is seeking a professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. The role includes interviewing donors and reviewing medical history to determine donation eligibility.

In collaboration with the Center Medical Director, you will address donor questions about suitability, review test results, and advise on next steps for donors with reactive results.

Qualifications

• Graduation from paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic training.
• Foreign medical graduates must be licensed as physician or certified as EMT.
• Minimum of one year of relevant health-care experience.
• Experience in plasma or whole blood collection centers is preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments of heart, lungs, and related signs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff under licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews for suitability.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director.
• Review test results and monitor donor suitability; assess symptoms.
• Counsel donors on reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care per SOPs and escalate critical situations as needed.
