Job summary

CSL in Florida is seeking a qualified medical professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and to provide limited emergency care to donors and staff under supervision.

The role involves interviewing donors, reviewing medical histories, and coordinating with the Center Medical Director to address donor safety and test results, with escalation to physicians when needed.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic program.
• If graduation is from a foreign medical school, must be licensed as physician or hold EMT certification.
• For NY: valid licensure/certification as RN, MD or DO in the application state or reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year of healthcare experience.
• Experience in plasma/whole blood centers or regulated environments preferred.
• Ability to perform and analyze a physical cardiac/lung assessment and signs of substance use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure/certification.
• Interview donors and conduct medical history reviews to determine suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director on donor suitability questions.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors on reactive test results; refer for follow-up as needed.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical cases to physicians.
