Job summary

CSL Johnston, RI seeks a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and determine donation eligibility in collaboration with the Center Medical Director.

Responsibilities include reviewing test results, monitoring donor status, and counseling donors with reactive results, referring them for follow‑up as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign medical school, must be licensed as a physician or certified as an EMT
• Minimum of one year relevant healthcare experience
• Experience in plasma or blood collection center preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including medications as licensed
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews for donation suitability
• Coordinate with Center Medical Director on donor suitability information
• Review test results and monitor donor status during donation
• Notify and counsel donors on reactive test results and refer for follow-up
