Job summary

The American Red Cross in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Donor Care Specialist for the Charlotte office. The role is hybrid after training, with a Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00pm–11:30pm shift. Base pay is $22.60 per hour with shift differentials (+$1.75 after 3pm, +$2.75 on weekends).

The position requires RN/LPN/MT/MLT medical certification or equivalent; HS diploma with medical certification is required, with an associate degree preferred. Travel may be involved and bilingual abilities are helpful.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent with medical certification such as RN, LPN or MT/MLT; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in patient care, blood collections or patient testing or equivalent experience.
• Bilingual is helpful.
• New Graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements.
• Travel: Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage donor complication cases from the donation process and provide appropriate donor care.
• Provide timely answers to donors and staff regarding donor eligibility, complaints and concerns; escalate as needed.
• Perform medical director/designee review for donor complication cases to ensure quality and regulatory standards.
• Investigate discrepancies in donor records; update and verify changes with confidential handling.
• Monitor security to ensure only authorized personnel access donor records.
• Prepare reports regarding donor complication cases.
