Job summary

Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care seeks a Donor and Community Partnership Specialist to cultivate donor relationships and support fundraising initiatives. You will work with the Development and Communications team to advance philanthropic goals and manage donor communications.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of fundraising experience, familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and WordPress, and a strategic, data-driven approach to donor engagement.

Position Summary:

The Donor and Community Partnership Specialistcultivates and stewards donor relationships, supports third-party fundraising events, and collaborates with the Development and Communications team to implement fundraising strategies that advance the philanthropic goals of Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.

The Donor and Community Partnership Specialist works closely with the Chief Development and Communications Officer and Director of Donor Relations to craft an overall fundraising strategy designed to grow giving from a defined sector of KCH donors with a history or capability of annual contributions equal to or greater than $1,000 (mid-level).

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field required.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years fundraising experience in a complex, data-driven organization required; fundraising experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years fundraising event experience required.
  • Proven experience working in Raiser’s Edge/ NXT or comparable, required.
  • Must be comfortable learning and using new and changing software systems (including P2P software) as well as WordPress website management.
  • Must be an analytical and strategic thinker, engaging writer, outstanding editor, detailed project manager and data-driven decision maker.
  • Requires expertise and deep understanding of the complexities of donor-specific communications and interactions.
  • A commitment to the AFP Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required; working knowledge of Google applications preferred.
