The Donor & Alumnae Engagement Coordinator will be at the heart of that work—buildingrelationships with alumnae, families, and friends of the school and creating meaningful opportunitiesfor them to connect, celebrate, give back, and remain part of the SMA story.

This is a unique opportunity for a relationship-driven professional who loves bringing peopletogether. From partnering with the Alumnae Board and welcoming alumnae back for reunions andmilestone celebrations, to building relationships with prospective donors and helping them discovermeaningful ways to support SMA, no two days will look quite the same. The coordinator will helpstrengthen SMA’s alumnae community while managing a portfolio of prospective and currentdonors and cultivating gifts of approximately $1,000-$25,000 - moving relationships from interest to engagement to investment.

Working closely with the Director of Development and in strong partnership with the AdvancementEvents & Engagement Manager and Advancement Data & Systems Coordinator, this position willbe part of a collaborative team advancing the priorities of SMA’s strategic plan and helping shapethe next chapter of Alumnae engagement and philanthropy. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Alumnae Relations & Engagement

• Serve as the primary liaison to the Alumnae Board, building strong relationships with alumnae leaders and volunteers.
• Develop meaningful opportunities for alumnae to connect with SMA and one another.
• Partner with the Advancement Events & Engagement Manager on alumnae traditions and events, including Sports Reunions, Gold Grads Luncheon, Reunion Weekend, Senior Seminar, Senior Luncheon, and Graduation.
• Engage graduating seniors as they transition from students to lifelong members of the SMA alumnae community.
• Identify alumni with potential for deeper engagement, volunteer leadership, and philanthropic support.

Donor Relations & Portfolio Management

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 prospective and current donors.
• Build authentic relationships through personal meetings, calls, correspondence, events, and other meaningful touchpoints.
• Develop individual strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors.
• Personally solicit gifts, with an emphasis on gifts of approximately $1,000-$25,000.
• Connect donor interests and passions with SMA priorities and opportunities for impact.
• Maintain consistent donor outreach, follow-up, and stewardship.

Cultivation & Community Engagement

• Create and support cultivation opportunities that deepen relationships with alumnae, parents, donors, and friends of SMA.
• Use events and engagement activities to identify prospective donors and move relationships from interest to engagement to investment.
• Build relationships with volunteers and community members who can broaden SMA’s connections and philanthropic reach.

Advancement Team Partnership

• Partner closely with the Director of Development, Advancement Events & Engagement Manager, and Advancement Data & Systems Coordinator to advance shared goals.
• Maintain timely and accurate donor interactions, strategies, and next steps in the Advancement database.
• Participate in prospect strategy and planning for fundraising, stewardship, alumnae engagement, and other Advancement priorities.
• Track progress toward established donor engagement and fundraising goals.
• Represent St. Mary’s Academy warmly and professionally with alumnae, donors, families, volunteers, and community members.
• Support additional Advancement priorities and school events as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education and qualifications should include the following:

• 2+ years of fundraising, alumni relations, donor engagement, or advancement experience; 3– 5 years preferred.
• Comfortable initiating philanthropic conversations and personally asking for charitablesupport.
• Strong relationship-building, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and project-management skills, including managing a donorportfolio and multiple priorities.
• Collaborative team member with the ability to independently manage relationships and responsibilities.
• Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
• Blackbaud or comparable CRM experience preferred.
• Independent school, education, or nonprofit experience preferred.
• Availability for occasional evening/weekend events and donor meetings.

Salary/Benefits:

The salary range for this full-time, exempt position is $65,000.00 - $69,000.00. St. Mary’s Academy provides excellent benefits, including medical, dental, and life insurance, retirement, paid time off, tuition remission, and opportunities for professional development.
