Job description

ACIS accredits, supports, and advances the interests of Colorado independent schools.

St. Mary’s Academy, located in Englewood, Colorado is Metro Denver’s premier Catholic, Independent school offering rigorous academics in its co-ed Preschool-Grade 8, and all-girls High School. SMA offers a safe, yet innovative program that embraces all student backgrounds, and fosters character and moral development from preschool to graduation.

SMA is a close community where faculty and staff serve as role models for the students with a mission to foster excellence in each child through academic achievement, spiritual development and service. The qualities of a strong work ethic, desire for personal growth, and commitment to life-long learning that St. Mary’s Academy expects of students is likewise an expectation for faculty and staff. Each day, too, is an opportunity to live the Loretto School Values of faith, community, justice, and respect.

SMA is committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty and staff dedicated to their profession and the well-being and life of the St. Mary’s Academy community. St. Mary's Academy does not discriminate on the basis of age, color, sex, disability, marital status, national or ethnic origin, race, sexual orientation or religion. This policy applies to all areas of student concerns: educational policies, admission policies (historically high school admission is open to women only), scholarship, and grant-in-aid programs, athletic and other school-administered programs as well as employee/personnel concerns. St. Mary's Academy is an equal opportunity employer.

Job Description:

St. Mary’s Academy is at an exciting moment in its history, with ambitious priorities for the future and a growing focus on strengthening the lifelong connection between SMA and its community. The Donor & Alumnae Engagement Coordinator will be at the heart of that work—building relationships with alumnae, families, and friends of the school and creating meaningful opportunities for them to connect, celebrate, give back, and remain part of the SMA story.

This is a unique opportunity for a relationship-driven professional who loves bringing people together. From partnering with the Alumnae Board and welcoming alumnae back for reunions and milestone celebrations, to building relationships with prospective donors and helping them discover meaningful ways to support SMA, no two days will look quite the same. The coordinator will help strengthen SMA’s alumnae community while managing a portfolio of prospective and current donors and cultivating gifts of approximately $1,000-$25,000—moving relationships from interest → engagement → investment.

Working closely with the Director of Development and in strong partnership with the Advancement Events & Engagement Manager and Advancement Data & Systems Coordinator, this position will be part of a collaborative team advancing the priorities of SMA’s strategic plan and helping shape the next chapter of Alumnae engagement and philanthropy. For someone who loves people, values tradition and community, believes in the transformative power of education, and wants to see the direct impact of their work, this is an exceptional opportunity to make a lasting difference.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Alumnae Board, building strong relationships with alumnae leaders and volunteers.

  • Build authentic relationships through personal meetings, calls, correspondence, events, and other meaningful touchpoints.

  • Connect donor interests and passions with SMA priorities and opportunities for impact.
  • Maintain consistent donor outreach, follow-up, and stewardship.

Cultivation & Community Engagement

  • Create and support cultivation opportunities that deepen relationships with alumnae, parents, donors, and friends of SMA.
  • Use events and engagement activities to identify prospective donors and move relationships from interest → engagement → investment.
  • Build relationships with volunteers and community members who can broaden SMA’s connections and philanthropic reach.

Advancement Team Partnership

  • Partner closely with the Director of Development, Advancement Events & Engagement Manager, and Advancement Data & Systems Coordinator to advance shared goals.
  • Maintain timely and accurate donor interactions, strategies, and next steps in the Advancement database.
  • Participate in prospect strategy and planning for fundraising, stewardship, alumnae engagement, and other Advancement priorities.
  • Track progress toward established donor engagement and fundraising goals.
  • Represent St. Mary’s Academy warmly and professionally with alumnae, donors, families, volunteers, and community members.
