Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers seeks a Production Assistant (Truck Driver) to complete pickups and drop-offs of donations at the warehouse, donor homes, and assigned boxes. You will operate the truck safely, keep records, and assist store teams with placement.

This role supports work therapy and rehabilitation efforts, requires professional conduct, teamwork, and adherence to procedures, while representing the organization in daily interactions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record.
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Read maps and plan daily routes.
• Able to use GPS/tablet for truck inspection reports.
• DOT physical clearance required.
• Professional appearance per dress code.

Responsibilities

• Drive routes for pickup and drop-off of donations.
• Ensure security and safe operation of the vehicle and equipment.
• Perform daily walk-around vehicle inspections and report issues.
• Plan daily routing and coordinate calls and boxes.
• Maintain accurate records (delivery manifests, trip logs).
• Assist Thrift Store staff with item placement and handling.
• Supervise Truck Helper and model good conduct.
• Follow the Manual for Production Assistants and report problems.
• Provide courteous customer service and represent The Salvation Army.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
