Job summary

Goodwill-Industries-of-South-Central-California is seeking a Material Handler I to receive donations, sort and display merchandise, and help drive sales in our Bakersfield store.

You will work with a team to keep the donation area clean, tag and price items, assist donors and customers, and support safe, efficient store operations. This role requires basic literacy and reliable teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimal ability to read and write is required.
• Prior customer service experience is a plus.
• Effective interpersonal and communications skills with all levels of staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process donations and prepare them for display.
• Move, sort, and display merchandise on the sales floor according to policy.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the donation area and store.
• Tag and price textiles, shoes, and furniture and assist donors and customers.
