Job summary

SOME (So Others Might Eat) in Washington, DC seeks a Donations Aide to support daily donations processing and distribution at our main campus on O Street NW. The role involves receiving, sorting, and stocking items for clients and maintaining accurate donation records.

You will assist donors, answer questions about SOME programs, supervise volunteers, and, when needed, drive the truck to pick up donations. The position is safety sensitive with a requirement to pass drug testing and lift up to 20

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years experience with homeless or mentally ill individuals preferred.
• Ability to work with donors and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Receive donations and provide receipts
• Sort clothing items and label by size; assist Clothing Room for clients
• Sort food items and toiletries and store in warehouse
• Stock pantry and label items for expiration
• Maintain cleanliness of donations room, warehouse, and storage areas
• Oversee and supervise volunteer groups
• Drive truck to pick up donations, as needed
