Job summary

Goodwill Industries Group in Valparaiso, IN is seeking a Store Clerk to efficiently receive, sort, price, tag, and stock donated items, ensuring a smooth flow from the donor drop-off to the sales floor.

You’ll help customers, balance cash, and maintain tidy back-room and merchandising areas while following safety protocols and store policies.

This is a full-time, on-site role with a fast-paced team focused on delivering excellent service and supporting the mission to empower people.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and ability to engage donors positively.
• Strong attention to detail when sorting, pricing, and tagging donated items.
• Ability to quickly learn donation policies and item acceptance guidelines.
• Basic understanding of safety protocols and lifting techniques.
• Effective teamwork and clear communication with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly; provide great service and answer inquiries.
• Track inventory levels, restock merchandise, and report discrepancies to management.
• Process purchases with POS; handle cash and deposits; balance cash drawer.
• Uphold Kaizen standards to improve efficiency and organization.
• Collaborate with team and supervisors to support store operations.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
