Job summary

Qualifications

• No formal education required or requested.
• Six months experience lifting and hauling heavy items such as appliances and furniture or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Rides in a Salvation Army truck on a scheduled route to pick up donated items and assists the driver with navigation.
• Inspects and sorts donated items to determine suitability for acceptance and for store display.
• Lifts, carries, and hauls donations into the truck and packs items to maximize space and protect from damage.
• Receives, sorts, and prices donated items and prepares them for display in the store or warehouse.
• Maintains order and cleanliness of the warehouse area and follows established procedures for discarding items.
