Job summary

Qualifications

• No formal education required; six months experience lifting/heavy items preferred.
• Valid state driver's license may be required.
• Ability to read maps or written directions.
• Good communication and safe driving practices.

Responsibilities

• Ride in a Salvation Army truck on a scheduled route to pick up donated items.
• Assist driver with navigation using maps or directions.
• Inspect donated items for policy compliance.
• Load items into truck, securing space and protecting goods.
• Prepare donation receipts and maintain accurate records.
• Unload donations at the warehouse and distribute items accordingly.
• Perform routine maintenance and checks on the truck.
• Maintain positive donor relations and uphold the organization's image.
• Assist in loading trucks for disposal or transfer as needed.
• Deliver appliances/furniture purchased by customers.
