Job summary

LifeGift Organ Donation Center is seeking a Donation Recovery Specialist to support the organ donation process, with emphasis on operating room recovery, perfusion, preservation, and packaging of donated organs. You will assist in kidney perfusion and ensure proper donor information verification for transplantation.

The role involves coordinating with organ procurement agencies, maintaining equipment and supplies, and working within LifeGift Hospital Partners network to advance lifesaving

Qualifications

• Certified Scrub Technologist (CST) or CFA with equivalent experience.
• Must hold Texas and National licensure or certification if applicable.
• Four years of experience in acute care, pre-hospital care, or organ procurement preferred.
• Knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with donor identification, stabilization, and management locally.
• Ensure safe transfer of organs, tissues, and supplies to facilities.
• Coordinate organ recovery in the OR with perfusion, preservation, packaging.
• Assist with kidney perfusion, monitor kidney function during perfusion.
• Deliver kidneys on preservation pump to transplant center with donor data verification.
• Screen and communicate organ offers; coordinate with distant recovery teams.
• Maintain procurement equipment and supplies for efficiency.
