Job summary

LifeGift in Lubbock, Texas seeks a Donation Recovery Specialist to support organ donation processes, including operating room recovery, perfusion, preservation, and packaging. The role involves coordinating organ recovery and ensuring accurate donor information and allocation, with travel to hospital partners within the service area and 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications include four years in acute care or organ procurement, CST/CFA or allied health

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in an acute care hospital, pre-hospital/emergency care setting, or organ procurement organization preferred.
• Completion of a CST, CFA, or other allied health training program, or equivalent experience.
• Must have and maintain Texas and national licensure and/or certification, if applicable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance during local donor identification, stabilization, and management of organ donors.
• Coordinates the organ recovery process in the operating room, including perfusion, preservation, packaging, and distribution of recovered organs.
• Assists with dissection and placement of kidneys on a preservation pump and monitors kidney perfusion.
• Delivers kidneys on the preservation pump to the receiving transplant center and verifies donor information and allocation.
• Receives and screens referred organ offers and coordinates with distant organ procurement agencies and local transplant centers.
