Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in your community is looking for a Donation Attendant to be the first point of contact for donors. In this role you will help with donations, provide outstanding customer service, and support daily store operations to fund community programs.

You will process donations, maintain an orderly donation area, and assist with loading/unloading trucks while following store procedures. Training is provided and teamwork is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Strong English communication for donor and team interactions.
• Basic computer skills to learn donation systems.
• Basic math skills for receipts, counting, and transactions.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and provide exceptional donor service.
• Process and track donations accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized donation area.
• Sort, load, and unload Salvation Army trucks per center policy.
• Power sort donations as they arrive where applicable.
• Support production processes as needed.
• Safeguard all donated materials and equipment.
• Report any complaints, damage, or injuries in the donation area.
• Guide donors on acceptable materials and information about pickup services for heavy items.
