Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Loves Park, IL is seeking a part-time Donation Processing Associate to greet donors and manage donations while keeping a welcoming donation area. This role contributes to community programs through mission-driven work.

You will work 24 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, with paid training and opportunities to grow in customer service and production processes within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Part-time role located in Loves Park, IL.
• Experience in donor-facing roles is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle donations and maintain a clean area.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and offer assistance.
• Process and track donations accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized donation area.
• Sort, load, and unload Salvation Army trucks per policy.
• Assist with power sort of donations when applicable.
• Support production processes as needed.
• Safeguard donated materials and equipment.
• Report complaints, damage, or injuries in the donation area.
• Guide donors on acceptable materials and pickup services for heavy items.
