Job summary

Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity is seeking a ReStore Associate to assist with daily operations of the ReStore, helping shoppers, donors, and volunteers. You will handle donations, support sales, and help maintain a welcoming environment that raises funds for Habitat’s mission.

Responsibilities include driving a box truck for pickups, processing donations, pricing items, and delivering excellent service to customers and donors.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Driver’s License and clean driving record (CDL not required).
• Enthusiasm for the mission and vision of Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity.
• Experience in retail, customer service, or non-profit work preferred.
• Customer Service Mindset
• Experience working with volunteers a plus.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and a team player.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the ReStore box truck for donation pickups.
• Perform heavy lifting and moving of donated items.
• Load and secure donations in the truck for transport.
• Move bulky merchandise with the team using equipment and proper lifting techniques.
• Travel to donor locations to assess donations and decline items that don’t meet criteria.
• Complete donation paperwork and vehicle documentation accurately.
• Provide courteous service to donors and explain how donations support Habitat’s mission.
• Receive, unload, price, and move donated merchandise across warehouse and sales floor.
• Maintain inventory and keep the sales floor safe and inviting.
• Answer questions in person, by phone, and by email promptly and courteously.
• Support cash register operations and sales-floor functions.
• Assist with housekeeping and maintenance of store, warehouse, and receiving areas.
• Follow safe work practices and guide volunteers in moving heavy items.
• Build positive relationships with volunteers and foster teamwork.
• Perform other ReStore duties to support store operations.
